Once upon a time in world where I still participated in Instagram I created the hashtag #thoughtsasprayers . It was a beautiful nod to the idea that all thoughts lead to what we see in the world. I keep my focus tight while casting a wide net of specifically worded thoughts which in turn become my prayers for the future. Even when I’m not paying attention, my thoughts are still the prayers- just far less serving.
I am deeply active in my stillness with my thoughts, their depths are the living prayer.
Within me and my world, there are many little woven wings of life that are lifting, readying for flight. My attention must remain with purity. So how do I honor those thoughts that don’t serve?
My stillness.
In another life I would have drank, or bought something, or eaten something, or scrolled for countless hours, binged watched, or over committed. I would have ignored the big feelings and thoughts and allowed them to ball into self-inflicted wounds of failure.
In the stillness, I am not numb. I am witness. I can see these defeating thoughts in their iridescent light and allow them the gift of a candle to burn so they can become the carbon needed for new life.
Today, the ocean called, the waves soothed. I left the words of unspoken heartache and troubled fears among the flotsam. I walked away in a spiral of release. Within each fear or painful thought I was able to embrace double the memories of joy and possibilities for the future.
Stillness. Receive. Remember. Release.
He said: “I just want you to do what you love. Do you know what that is?” What I know today is that the possibilities are endless- and I am well and truly supported because I am one with the One. #thoughtsasprayers
And now to 5 things…
Self-care does not have to come at the expense of any other body.
I create my own fire. It is the only element that must be touched to begin.
God is not a weapon. (fill in the deity of choice to replace God)
I no longer have to carry outside myself what is true.
Peace belongs to those that live freely with peace in mind.
If these words moved you, please consider sharing Wild Devotion.
Sending you Love until next time,
Lena
