Sometimes I feel like I’m in a tunnel of words- all cascading around me, weaving time and the storyline of my life.
Other times, the times I’m practicing to strengthen, the words are still and floating, awaiting for me to call them into focus. I awaken them into action with a deliberate thought and intention forward.
I actively live life as something I make happen, not something that happens to me. The switch is like being pulled out of the front seat of the car with your seatbelt on while you're driving. It leaves the ego breathless.
Many, if not most of us thrive on some sort of excitement or chaos. It has become a societal norm here in American culture, just look to daytime television for an example. We lost the will to build something better, to expand into the wild unknown. All the frontiers of old have been settled yet for most our inner landscape is never built higher than navigating middle school dramas.
I challenge here, as I do in life, that our limitless imagination was intended for something far grander than social media and mental illness at age 8.
My thought patterns have shifted and changed over the last two years because I’ve desired it and worked to make it happen. These last two months I’ve seen another shift that leaves empty space for something more. As I gather and integrate into something greater I leave my 5 things to the wisdom of words I have gathered along the way.
5 things to fill my dreams…
“The whole being needs to be fed- bread and meat for the body, knowledge and wisdom for the soul, atmosphere and consciousness for the Spirit.” -Ernest Holmes, Science of Mind
“In the economy of nature, nothing is ever lost.” -Gene Stratton-Porter
“Those who tell the stories rule society.” -Plato
“You are one of a thousand that will tell the stories of the earth.” -400 year old Oak Leesburg FL
“Jesus was the one great example, not the great exception.” -CG Jung
Happy New Year Blessed Soul. I love you.
please share how you live life as something you make happen rather than something that happens to you…an example, if possible, would be greatly appreciated. the image of being pulled out of the car while driving has me, and perhaps my ego, breathless.
