Hi! I’m Lenaleah, writer, storyteller, mystic. I offer a weekly dose of inspiration, with a story or two along the way for good measure. My ultimate goal is to remind you that you are a sacred little bean and the world needs your special kind of genius. Thanks for letting my words share your space.
Today’s story starts with us arriving at the point where we will no longer need to search for the answer to the question “What will I be when I grow up?”
The answer is this: we are Alchemists.
Every thought we think. Every breath we take. Every time we live or die inside a choice— we are Alchemists. We are magical, blessed, misunderstood, depressed, elated, unbelieving Alchemists.
I’ve spent countless hours over the last three weeks wrapping my head and heart around what I do here in your inbox.
The answer is alchemy.
Alchemy is the act of taking a thing (your thoughts) and turning it into something else that is desired (dreams/goals). The thing created is generally useful, and most certainly what we need at the time. However, sometimes it doesn’t always turn out the way we thought it would. This is where my work comes in.
Hard work and intentions can be modified, honed in, and created with a brilliance that turns all the heavy lifting into a more polished version of our desired outcome in life.
I will be up front: I have ulterior motives.
I want you to know the diamond I see within you. I want you to remember the power instilled in you at birth. I want you to wake up one day and say, “Damn it, she’s right!” and then I want to watch you knock the socks off this world.
My whole life I’ve see the spark of promise in nearly every single person I’ve ever met. Some people call this aura, other just think I need my eyes checked. I disagree on both accounts. I sense in others what is also contain within me—promise.
I wasn’t the head cheerleader in high school for nothing! It’s what I do, I support people. I embrace your struggle and give you a push with a kind word just when you need it. And damn it, I love to inspire the hardworking individual that sees completion of a goal more rewarding than their placement at the finish line.
I’ve been doing this thing called spirituality for more than twenty years. (Ahem, pardon me while I pause to mourn my youth.) It’s taken the last five years to step into this moment.
I want you to find your moment, too.
I want you to embrace a silver of trust that you, too, are an alchemist and together we are going to make life golden.
What I do not promise: a happy secret pill, spiritual by-pass, loss of religion (if that’s your thing), devotion to anything you don’t believe in.
This passage we are entering into together is the culmination of what I understand as a spiritual method for a happier, more centered life. It is what I’ve learned, practiced, embraced as my truth. It will require your effort, your hard work when necessary, and the building of your own personal truth.
If your favorite things in life are reality tv and false lashes, you might not find what you’re looking for here. Not that either of those are bad, it’s just what I do here isn’t false, it’s real and it requires you to be real, too.
With that declaration, I leave you with some wise words from one of my most favorite books, written by a brilliant author.
“That’s what alchemists do. They show that, when we strive to become better than we are, everything around us becomes better, too.” Paulo Coelho, The Alchemist
Passage forward:
In the coming weeks I will be archiving the majority of my older writings. It’s time to spruce Creative Mystic up a little and organize it with a flow that makes sense for easy navigation. All archived materials will only be assessable to paying subscribers.
My weekly notes will continue again each week, however the day of their arrival will now start on Thursday’s. Look for the next installment on 10/19.
Fictional stories will be coming. I’ve been writing a fictional tale each day for 17 days so far. I look forward to sharing some of the stories I’ve been gathering.
I have decided to keep the paywall up, however it will only be for special events and archived works. If you feel like you would like to support my work monetarily and are able, know that you are supporting an artist that does this because it’s her passion and also her life calling. Rarely do we allow ourselves to receive in return for the work we do out of love. I’m open to receive if you are able to give your support. To all my paying subscribers, I thank you.
I will leave you with an image of the magic that is coming into my life these days. This lady and one of her teenage kits (not pictured) danced around me and my dogs as we walked this morning. Pure inspiration!
