Under a New Moon- Creative Mystic is Born
The new look, the vibe, and of course a story
You are a subscriber to Wild Devotion- the former name of this newsletter. My intention to provide you with excellent writing remains the same- the topics for the Creative Mystic will be more specific in nature. More details are found in this post.
The Story:
The girls have started school again. It’s been a full 365 since they first stepped into a public school.
The stillness of their leaving feels different this year- tangible with a spice of possibility.
While running errands together last week my husband asked, “Well, what did you think you would do when they left? What did you envision you would do with your time?”
Our conversation was about work- the kind that gives purpose while also generating money.
In my head all I thought instantly was this:
“I thought I would stay home and teach the world to love the God within themselves again.”
Never, not since finding out I was pregnant, have I felt more truer words inside me.
The Vibe:
New Moon in Leo says “Center your visions upon what serves you best- remaining true to your heart while also honoring the love inside life.” Basically take care of yourself while not being an ass in the world.
As a person born with a Leo moon, I feel it like a service to the world- my heart loves to support others and help them bloom.
I’m happy to report that I can see a light at the end of the foggy tunnel that was my quasi middle life crisis.
You are looking at the new creation that is the product of that exploration.
Creative Mystic will bring you the words I gather in my studies to fulfill my new purpose: to remind you that you are holy.
I have no plans to convert you, that would require that I be converted myself.
My plan is to study the great mystics, ancient text, and new age wisdom in-depth. Gathering the wisdom and sharing its promise in ways that are creative, engaging, inspirational.
My fictional stories will continue- I am a storyteller after all - and mama can’t stop the stories from flowing.
The Look:
The Creative Mystic will arrive in your mailbox twice weekly.
Sunday’s with my Weekly Draw- a quick note where I will do an oracle reading for us as a collective to guide us into the week ahead. The note will also include a quote or journal prompt. A list of some kind- I have ideas- the point is there will be a list.
Friday’s message will cover topics from my studies, possibly touch on a larger theme in the collective. These articles will be longer in length and depth. It will also be the time when I release my stories, or if I’m brave, a poem or two.
Quarterly I will host events, find creative ways to celebrate this community we are building, giveaways, handwritten notes of love.
On the next new moon (Sept 14th), I will turn Creative Mystic into a paid subscription with a free monthly newsletter. More on that to come in the near future.
